Cascade & Azacca American Pale Ale – Brewed for Drinkability

Equipment
This week, we sample APA#5 from Mike. This beer is an American Pale Ale brewed with Cascade and Azacca hops.

Mike loves pulling together small details from other things we produce for this channel and see how he can work them into a single beer at times.

This time Mike decided to use some flaked wheat and flaked corn in an American Pale Ale to hopefully achieve some lighter crisper body characteristics while also getting maximum hop punch out of a relative modest amount of hopping.

We certainly achieved that with this APA. There is a wonderful grapefruit flesh and pith character from the Cascade along with some slight tropical notes from the Azacca as well as more citrus.

The beer really delivers on a palate manageable flavor profile with only 4 oz of specialty hops being added! Go figure!
