GABS launches $100K cashback campaign

Good To Know

With the Australian craft beer industry facing difficult economic and operating conditions, the Great Australasian Beer Spectapular (GABS) has launched a cashback campaign worth $100,000 that encourages consumers to attend the GABS Festival in June.

In an effort to support the sector, GABS has launched the campaign as a means of delivering value to the consumer, hoping to encourage record numbers of visitors to the festival.

Consumers who purchase a single entrance ticket before midnight on Thursday 18 April will automatically qualify for a $20 cashback drinks card that can be used to support any of the breweries pouring beer at the festival. Cash cards will be issued on arrival and accepted at any bar on the day.

Further to this, GABS has also introduced a post-GABS Beer Safari, where all ticket holders will receive up to $250 in beer offers to be redeemed at partner venues after the event.

“We would love consumers to come out, support their favourite breweries and raise a glass to the vibrant world of craft beer and as such we have cut back our marketing investments to make this happen,” a spokesperson for GABS said.

Since its inception in 2011, the GABS Festival has connected craft beer lovers and brewers, and this year ticket holders can expect to try 120 brand-new and exclusive festival beers brewed by 120 different craft breweries. For the festival, GABS will once again purchase more than 80,000 litres of beer from small independent breweries, including unique and one-off brews.

At last year’s festival, 164,000 glasses of craft beer were consumed, poured from more than 500 beer taps in one day.

The offer is limited to $100,000 cashback, or Thursday 18 April, whichever comes first. Qualifying full-priced single tickets can be purchased now.
