Muntons Brewery in a Bag Pale Ale – Tasting and Final Notes

Equipment
We conclude our three part video series featuring the Muntons Brewery in a Bag brew kit.

This week, we finally taste the beer that comes out of this unique, single vessel, no boil, beer making system. Recall that the Muntons Brewery in a Bag system is a pre-filled bag style fermentation device that is filled with hopped extract – All one has to do is add water and add the supplied yeast.

In this video, Mike demonstrates pouring beer out of the bag. John and Mike then proceed with normal tasting. We both think there were some nice malty bread notes and some esters from the fermentation. We both however picked up some significant green apple flavors. These flavors are somewhat indicative of a stalled or weak ferment. We discuss ways to change the fermentation process in future attempts.

Check it out. Let us know if you’ve used this product. We received no support from Muntons while making this video, aside from the one free kit they handed us at NHC2019.
