TAKE A KEG CAMPING! – Ironman Fridge Kegerator build

Equipment
Following a lot of people asking about how to build the Kegsky (Keg Esky) that featured in previous trip videos, I finally got around to filming a build. But I thought I’d do one better and convert a 12v fridge into a Kegerator (Keg Refrigerator). The same principals apply to converting an esky if you don’t have a fridge available.

Ironman 4×4 came through with the goods, and supplied me with a 40L Icecube fridge for the build;

Your local homebrew shop will be able to supply you with most of what you need. If you can, support local.

For this project you’ll need;

Tower and tap;

OR a short shank tap for going through side of esky;

5m of beer/co2 line (5mm inner diameter, 8mm external);

OR mini regulator with gauge and adapters to fit 16g bulbs AND sodastream bottles;

Soda stream bottles can be bought from Woolworths, 16g bulbs can be bought from your local home brew shop, or online;

If you’re planning to build your own tower like I did in this video you’ll need;

90mm pipe;

90mm grate;

90mm end cap;

Pipe insulation;

Tap to suit tower;

You’re also going to need a drill, drill bits, hole saw, black paint, masking tape, spanners and side cutters.

To get a good pour with no head and good carbonation;
Set the fridge between 0-2degrees, cut beer line length to 3m (gas line length does not matter), set gas to 10-12psi (this pressure will carbonate flat beer after about 7 days at 2 degrees, and is a good serving pressure too).

Hit me up with any questions.

Cheers!
