Home Brewed Beer with Foraged Green Hops |The Malt Miller

Beer Kit
The last few weeks have been all about hops! Hop harvest has been in full swing around the UK, Europe and USA. We’ve been lucky to visit these farms and see the hop harvest as well as learn how to identify when your hops are ready to pick.

Outside of the commercial farms wild green hops are filling the hedgerows around the UK so we just had to take the opportunity to both forage for some and home brew a beer using them. We went for an ESB using some wonderfully complementary malts and fermented using White Labs 028 Edinburgh.

Check out this video to learn how to select hops for your brew, when they are ripe and ready to pick and hopefully inspire you to look for them in your local area and brew a unique beer that only comes around once a year!
